Lars’ mother, Shirley Tetens, always had a passion for culinary adventures. In the 1950’s she was avidly developing new recipes with new exotic combinations of flavors and textures. Lars started cooking at five years old and when he was only six and seven, Shirley started training him to be an explorer of new delights on the path to discovering her art of culinary exploration. Shirley had a love for chocolate which she passed down to her son who, to this day, uses the discipline that his mother taught him as a child to manufacture his exotic indulgences. In 1972, when Lars was only 8 years old, he started his work on creating his own chocolates and truffles. Using the discipline of his mother Shirley Tetens, he combined the sumptuous exotic spices and flavors of the east, the traditional old world art of the French chocolatier and the heat of the South American spices. Over thirty years ago, Lars created his one-of-a-kind unique chocolates and chocolate truffles for the enjoyment of those with the wherewithal to become consumers of his exotic treats.
